Trauma-Informed Yoga & Embodied Resilience
This is an 8-hour immersion program for folks interested in deepening their awareness of trauma and integrating best practices into their current offerings, including yoga instructors, bodyworkers, massage therapists, space holders, counselors, and more. The core components of this training are MIND-BODY CONNECTION + RESILIENCE.

Mind-Body Connection/ Topics include: physiology + neuroscience of trauma, symptoms of trauma + toxic stress (physical, hormonal, energetic, mental, emotional, and relational), polyvagal theory, supporting research toward mind-body approaches, and yogic philosophy as related to trauma in the body
Resilience/ Topics include: how to support post-traumatic growth within the boundaries of a yoga class or sacred space, language considerations, the power of choice, potential triggers, hands-on adjustments, movement, somatic (body-based) tools for grounding + self-regulation, ethical, cultural and social justice considerations/intersections with trauma
Program Includes:
> 60-minute trauma-informed yoga practice
> Training manual with resources, hands-on practices, sample guided meditations, playlists, references for further learning & more
> Practice teaching/ space- holding & group reflections
> Care packages curated just for you, to tend to your own self keeping, during & post-program

Bio/ Led by Megan Davis, LISW-S, RYT/500. Megan has over 15 years of experience working as a school-based therapist in inner-city Cleveland. Since completing her first yoga teacher training in 2012, she has integrated yoga + mindfulness into her work with children, teens, families + women. She has taught trauma-informed yoga in schools, mental health agencies, and drug + alcohol treatment settings. In addition to yoga teacher training and empowerment workshops, she currently teaches yoga + mindfulness at Applewood Centers and serves as the Executive Director for local non-profit ZENworks Yoga.
